MONASTERY OF ZOODOCHOS PIGI

It is built on the site where Jason and the Argonauts are said to have dedicated a temple to Apollo to thank the god for saving them from the storm by raising Anafi from the waves. Remains of the original temple are still visible, integrated into the walls of the present monastery. The biggest religious celebrations on the island take place here on September 7 and 8. Don't miss the chance to dance and feast with all the islanders.
