Milos Island is an idyllic tourist destination in the Cyclades. It is a largely undiscovered island, with one of the most interesting coastlines of any island of its size in the world. The island is best known for its spectacular, colorful rock formations, earning it the nickname "the island of colors". Milos is the fifth-largest island in the Cyclades archipelago and is just 3-5 hours from Athens by ferry or 30 minutes by plane. The inhabitants of Milos live mainly from tourism and mining, as well as fishing, farming and agriculture. The island is also known as "the island of lovers", thanks to the discovery of the famous statue of the Venus de Milo, the Greek goddess of love and beauty. Milos also offers numerous outdoor activities, such as sea kayaking, scuba diving, sailing, mountain biking, hiking and windsurfing.
