A beautiful church with a magnificent iconostasis in Ermoupolis.

Built in the 19th century with the support of King Otto I and the financial assistance of the island's shipowners to celebrate Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of Syros. Its magnificent marble façade, imposing spires and sky blue dome have made it one of the main attractions of the island. The busy interiors do not overshadow a magnificent iconostasis. Among its splendours: the silver-plated icon of St. Nicholas in Moscow and the sovereign marble throne.
