KASTRO

It is the highest point of view of the city, where the acropolis once stood. Connected to the Piazza, it's a short walk to make. The ruins of the Venetian castle overlook the city center and offer a breathtaking view. The current kastro was built around 1210 on the ancient fortifications of Ioulis. The walls were built with the stones of an ancient temple dedicated to Apollo. The panorama, on the islands facing Attica, is worth the detour and the climb. Otherwise, there is almost nothing left of the Venetian citadel.
