BEACHES

Asteria is the beach in the town centre. Kourenti, also in the town, is still popular with the locals for their daily bathing. Alykesbeach (rocks, sand and shallow sea) is located near the village of Drosia. Aghios Minas, 3 km away, has a beautiful sandy beach, though a bit exposed to the wind. The beach ofAulida with its famous lighthouse and a stretch of sand or pebbles depending on the place and there too plenty of cafes and restaurants, but also nightclubs here. The beach of Valopoula, near the beach of Aghios Minas has a shallow sea.
