City with various Christian temples, tombs and cemeteries of the archaic period in Avdira.
We can see the remains of a fortification, a bridge, towers and a road that was 74 m long and 6 m wide. In Byzantine times, the city was renamed Polystylon because of its many colonnades and was confined to a restricted area around the port. Various Christian temples from the mid-Byzantine period, tombs and cemeteries from the Archaic to the Post-Byzantine period have been revealed and are visible today. The Turkish occupation caused the village to be moved to its current location for security reasons.
