RAU MONASTERY

The monastery of Raou is built on a hillside above the beach of the same name, on 250 hectares of land. Surrounded by tall dark green cypress trees, its stone and wood architecture encircles the small church. The monks' cells are only occasionally occupied today. If you are on foot, you can quench your thirst at the tap at the entrance of the monastery. Today, this splendid space, maintained by the University of Thessaly, is also used as a venue for various conferences and events.
