Fortress built between 1795 and 1815 where the body of the pasha lies.
It was built between 1795 and 1815 by European engineers of the court of Ali Pasha. It was within its walls that the pasha orchestrated the massacres and tortures that made his reputation. Explanatory boards in English retrace the history of the place, especially near the tomb of Ali Pasha placed under a large iron cage as it was at the time. Here lies only the body of the pasha, his decapitated head having been sent to the sultan. The ruins of the acropolis sheltered behind its ramparts can be the occasion of a walk.

Un bel edifice muni de remparts qui domine la ville au bord du lac. Un magnifique endroit pour se promener mais aussi pour en apprendre plus sur la région et son histoire. Ne pas manquer de coupler la visite avec le musée pour ne rien manquer de l histoire des lieux.

Un bel endroit paisible au dessus de la ville. De beaux édifices anciens et le Musée byzantin très intéressant .
