Built by the Ottomans in 1573, this well-preserved castle deserves a short break. Its perimeter is 1,566 m. At the top, the acropolis is hexagonal in shape, with its six corners reinforced with bastions. From the citadel, you will have a breathtaking view of the bay. The Gothic style church of the Transfiguration of the Savior can also be seen. Built by the Franks, it was transformed into a mosque by the Ottomans. Its fortress was built by the Ottomans shortly after their defeat at Lepanto in order to close the harbour.
