Monastery dedicated to Ossios Patapios next to a cave that can be visited.

The monastery that can be visited today was built in 1952 on the site of a former 12th century convent, a place of retreat for Orthodox hermits. The present monastery dedicated to Ossios Patapios, erected on the slopes of Mount Gerania, at an altitude of 700 m, above Loutraki, is still active. It is adjacent to a cave which can be visited and where relics have been found. From there, the view is magnificent, and the place is full of serenity.
