TIKVEŠ CASTLE (DVORAC TIKVEŠ)

In the nature park Kopački Rit, this manor house built in the middle of the 18th century under the Habsburgs had become one of the second residences of Marshal Tito. Behind the walls of this hunting lodge are many stories about guest celebrities such as Prince Eugene of Savoy, Emperor Franz Joseph, Empress Sissi, but also Franz Liszt. Less glamorous, the castle was also the seat of many major political decisions.
