The most luxurious historical hotel in Zagreb. Formerly called the Regent, the Esplanade was built in 1925. It has retained its classical architecture, Art Nouveau interior and furnishings, and casino, all perfectly preserved. International personalities and other aristocrats, travellers on the Orient-Express, have stayed there. 200 five-star rooms, as well as the presence of an award-winning chef at the Zinfandel'Restaurant. If possible choose a room overlooking the square. You can sit in the café-bar without being a resident of the hotel.

Staff are very professional (front desk, cleaning and restaurants). Food is fantastic and on par or better than other 5-star hotels around the world.
Gym isn’t great but sauna is great to have. Everything is clean.

Feel of early 20th century is supported by the fact that this hotel operates for almost 100 years.
Rooms are large and Esplanade offers the best pillows I’ve ever laid my head on.
Food is just superb, the bar offers amazing experience, location is very central.
