ATATÜRK KÖŞKÜ - MANOIR
Trabzon's Atatürk Mansion, erected in the 19th century by Greek banker Konstantin Kabayanidis, stands proudly on the verdant heights of Soğuksu. It is inspired by European neo-Renaissance architecture. Atatürk stayed here in June 1937 and made a historic decision: to bequeath all his possessions to the Turkish nation. He declared: "Evil and wealth are a burden to me. I shall feel relieved when I give them to my nation Now transformed into a museum, the mansion displays personal objects, photos, official documents and period furniture.
