Housed in a beautiful old building originally used as a hospital, the small ethnographic museum provides information (unfortunately not extensive enough) on Izmir's traditional architecture, daily life and customs. Beautiful sculptures. Don't miss the Ottoman pharmacy and the bridal chamber. This is also an opportunity to discover the Zeibeks, a tribe from the outskirts of Izmir, whom Descamps depicted with high conical turbans, enormous belts and curved sabers, the famous yatağan.
