Cable car linking Mont-Dore and Puy de Sancy, with a 20-minute ascent via a wooden staircase.
Established in 1962, the Sancy cable car carries up to 900 passengers per hour. In just 4 minutes, you can climb over 450 metres in altitude. All that's left to do is climb 860 wooden steps to reach the highest point of the Massif Central, at 1,886 metres, and admire a 360° view. Don't forget to bundle up and bring a bottle of water, as it's windy up there! And don't miss the last descent from the cabin. The cable car departs from the parking lot 3 km from Le Mont-Dore.
