The CosmoCaixa Science Museum offers visitors a space dedicated to promoting scientific knowledge and stimulating curiosity through a wide range of permanent and temporary exhibitions, workshops and activities for all publics. Of particular interest is the Universe room: a free journey from the big bang to the latest frontiers of knowledge, full of interactive proposals, real objects and scientific and artistic reproductions. The geological wall is made up of seven large real pieces from different geological processes. The Flooded Forest, a thousand-square-meter fragment of tropical forest where you can discover some of the most representative species of the Amazon: caimans, ants, boas, fish, tropical birds and plants. And the Math Lab, an area entirely devoted to mathematics, where you'll find games, puzzles, mazes, riddles and all sorts of challenges to stimulate your positive, logical and creative side. You'll discover how mathematics can be used to solve a wide range of problems and turn it into a way of life!
The temporary exhibition Extraterrestrials - Is there life beyond Earth? is an inspiring exhibition about one of the great questions humanity has been asking for millennia: are we alone in the universe? Today, we still have no conclusive evidence on this question, but for the first time in history, scientific and technological advances are giving us a glimpse of an answer.
In addition to its exhibition spaces, the CosmoCaixa Science Museum offers activities for all publics, from guided tours to family workshops. It also boasts a planetarium with various astronomy and popular science programs, which are renewed periodically. Projections are in Catalan, translated into Spanish, English and French, and feature an audiodescription system.
A place where pleasure and knowledge go hand in hand, guaranteed!
