Hidden away in the former gardens of the Casa de la Misericordia, here's an oasis of calm and greenery just a stone's throw from the Ramblas! The café of the La Central del Raval bookshop is the ideal place to enjoy a coffee or nibble on a salad, sandwich or tapas (or even more sophisticated dishes such as meat or fish) in the shade of the palm and orange trees that populate its patios. If you squint your eyes, you'll almost think you're in a country house. In short, a quiet stopover recommended when visiting this part of town.
