It is not easy to find a decent local restaurant in Aswan without finding oneself in the big hotels of the city. The al-Masri restaurant is a good alternative to the big hotels. The restaurant doesn't look like much, but you can eat well and at a low cost. Just a stone's throw from the cornice and five minutes from the train station, everyone knows this typical Egyptian grill restaurant. Not far from the souk too. The reception's nice. There are more locals than tourists, which is a good sign! We eat there pretty quickly.
