Various German colonial buildings to discover in the city of Bagamoyo.

Bagamoyo is packed with German colonial buildings: around the elementary school, the customs house (1887) overlooking the beach; the former prison, now a police barracks; the former German headquarters; the former German fort (Old boma), built in 1889 by Major von Wissman and in front of which is buried the dean of African slaves (Maria Ernestina, captured in Congo in 1890, freed a few years later and died in 1974); the cemetery of German soldiers killed during the conquest of the country.
