In Arusha, Mr. Marc Basseporte is the Honorary Consul of France. Mr. Basseporte is the husband of the owner of the Jacaranda Hotel on Old Moshi Road (his home is also nearby). He has been living in Tanzania since 1989, so he knows the surrounding area better than anyone else. Working in collaboration with the French Embassy, he will help you if you encounter difficulties or if you are robbed or assaulted in Arusha.
