This village, located 9 km north of the ancient city, emerged when the Bedouins had to leave the caves of Petra. The surrounding mountains are home to beautiful Nabatean remains, which are certainly less impressive than in the capital, but which are nevertheless worth spending half a day there. From there comes its nickname of "Little Petra". One can admire the unique ornamental paintings in the region and walk away from the tourist crowds. Al-Beidah is also a great place to meet the Bedouin, some of whom open the doors of their homes or camp in tents with improved comfort. Al-Beidah is also the arrival point for treks from Dana. You might consider sleeping here to rest your feet and enjoy an extra night of quiet.
