Ruins of a convent built in 1407, then the largest in former Livonia.
The ruins of the convent date from the 15th century: only the façade and the side walls remain. The convent was built by wealthy merchants from Tallinn and was the largest in the former Livonia. It was built in 1407 on the banks of the river Pirita. The church remained in use until its destruction at the end of the 16th century. In the 17th century, the land in front of the cathedral ruins became a cemetery for peasants. Today, only the 35 m high western façade and the side walls are still preserved.
