This religious and educational complex is the largest mosque in the country and the second largest in the Balkans.
Built in 1744 on the initiative of Halil Pasha, this religious and educational complex is one of the city's most important monuments, the largest mosque in the country and the second largest in the Balkans. "Tombul" refers to the bulging shape of the 25 m-high dome, built in Turkish Baroque style by the builder Ibrahim Nimale. It was here that young people came to learn the Koran and enjoy the splendid Koranic library.
