PALAIS NATIONAL DE LA CULTURE - NDK

Inaugurated in 1981 and served by a wide, long pedestrian walkway, the National Palace of Culture, aka NDK (НДК), is an immense complex of massive architecture (300,000^m3 of concrete, 10,000 t of metal!), a landmark and rallying point for the city center. It is the largest conference and exhibition space in the Balkans. The NDK hosts numerous trade fairs and congresses. With its fifteen or so auditoriums, ranging from 100 to 4,000 seats, it is undoubtedly a place of culture.
