Ruins of ancient Isedraten (15 km south of Ouargla) on display in the Ouargla Museum and the Antiquities Museum in Algiers.
About 15 km south of Ouargla, the ancient Isedraten was built from the 8th century A.D. In 909, Yacoub, the last Rostémide, made it a capital whose prosperity annoyed the Hammadite sovereign El-Mansour who had it razed in 1072. Buried under the sand for centuries, the ruins of the city have been partly brought to light. The most beautiful pieces of this underground city, fragile, found on the spot are exposed to the museum of Ouargla and also to the museum of Antiquities in Algiers. A beautiful visit.
