In the south of Zenete, the Touat, crossed by the Messaoud Oued, extends between the Tademaït plateau to the northeast, the Plaine plain to the east and the Erg Erg to the southwest. Touat is the plural of the word tit which means "source." It's a big plateau sorry to the moon, almost white, blinding under the implacable sun.Adrar ("stones"), on the road leading to Reggane at 280 m above sea level, is an oasis which has grown through the cultivation of wheat, barley, tobacco, dates, strawberries, but above all tomatoes that are celebrating harvest during the spring moussem in late March. It is the capital of Zenete since the th century, when it became a veritable North-South trade Plaque. Today, it is still the vegetable crops, but above all the gas and oil that make the town home to not more than 100 000 inhabitants.
