Saharan Museum dating from 1936 in Ouargla, with exhibits from the Sedrata excavations.
Supported by the Center for Saharan Research and Studies, the museum of Beni-Abbes, although a little dusty, is one of the most interesting in Algeria, especially in the South. The mineralogical and fossil collections, prehistoric objects from the excavations carried out at Heded Baba Hatda and Mahrouma, and objects from Saharan crafts are important.
Good to know
The museum is partly closed for works but remains open to the public and a good part of the collections is visible. Do not hesitate to contact it in advance.
