SIDE-RACHED BRIDGE
Petit Futé's opinion on SIDE-RACHED BRIDGE

It bears the name of a mausoleum located on a rock nearby. Started in 1907, it was inaugurated in April 1912 on the same day as the Sidi M'Cid suspension bridge at the other end of the gorge; it was at the time the world's tallest stone bridge. This bridge consists of 27 stone arches, one of which is 70 m long and follows a 450 m long curve between the city centre and the train station to the road leading to Batna, and crosses the gorges at 105 m high. Because of its arc shape and its situation, it requires frequent renovations. If, at the time of his inauguration, he was unique, he now has a brother in Luxembourg. Below, a species of the flea market and public dumps spoil the panorama.
