This square in Oran is home to the neoclassical-style former prefecture and the former Hôtel de la Paix.

This square was at the heart of the city until the end of the 19th century. Via the Porte de Canastel, it was indeed one of the main entrances to the city. Among the notable buildings: the former prefecture in neoclassical style and the former peace hotel (which today has been transformed into offices) of which there are unfortunately few historical features left following a renovation that did not take into account the character of the building...
