KASBAH OR CITADEL

It is the original site of the Medina, founded at the beginning of the tenth century. The citadel is surrounded by high walls and base towers. A little curiosity, there are known caves of Villaderias, according to the name of the Spanish governor who had arranged them for his troops.

However, casbah has been damaged since the 1990 s and overcrowded.

Warning. Do not go alone in the casbah, go along with a local guide and one of his friends at least because the attacks are frequent in that part of the city.
