The château is part of an ambitious project initiated by Antoine Coiffier Ruzé d'Effiat, friend of Richelieu and advisor to King Louis XIII. It is surrounded by 120 hectares of formal gardens and a plant maze. Access is via a large Volvic stone gate, followed by a beautiful avenue of lime trees leading to the courtyard. The building features a terrace, two central staircases with views of the Chaîne des Puys, and two water features with fountains. The venue hosts exhibitions and is also available for hire for various events.
