HEAVY STEEL

In the south of Nangan Island, near the village of Jenai, perched on its rock and protruding into the sea, the Steel Fort was for many years the base of Mazu's amphibious forces. It is now possible to visit it and learn a little more about the military history of the island. We discover the Spartan way of life of the Kuomintang soldiers, who lived under constant threat from Chinese forces. There is also a patriotic atmosphere, which reminds us that tensions between the two countries are still alive.
