Built in 1952 as a tribute to the soldiers who defended the island, this palace in traditional style is the main attraction of Kinmen. Inside, a room is entirely devoted to the island's tumultuous history: the whole is not exciting, but can be visited quickly. The very delicate architecture of the building makes it a must in Kinmen. From the pavilion on the top floor of the tower there is a beautiful view of the sea and the city. It is located south of Jincheng, and can be reached on foot from the small port.
