NATIONAL MUSEUM OF PREHISTORY

Completed in 2001, this museum sweeps over the prehistoric period with particular emphasis on the development of Aboriginal cultures. As it is located in the village of Peinan, 5 km inland, it is quite difficult to access for those who are not motorized. Several options: take a bus at Dingdong Station, train stopping at Kangle Station, taxi (for NT$200), or rent a scooter (there are scooters for NT$400 a day in the Old Station area).
