The Hirondelle Cave marks the beginning of the Yankizou hiking trail, which runs along the deep gorges for a little more than a kilometre. The roughness formed by erosion has given the cave its name: it looks like swallow nests carved out of the rock. On the way to the cave, a section of the old road leading to the Hehuanshan can be seen. The cliffs of the Hirondelle cave are so high that the sun only penetrates them when it is at its zenith.
