STONE CARVING MUSEUM

Next to the Hualien County Cultural Center, this museum, with its ambitious but successful architecture, houses a beautiful array of stone sculptures, one of the oldest and most specific Aboriginal arts of the archipelago. With collections of both ancient and contemporary works, it is a good introduction to this culture. The website has a map showing the main stone sculptures in the east of the country: very useful if you are motorized.
