YE XIANG BIANSHI

For more than seventy years, this small canteen near the night market has looked like thousands of others, yet it is a true institution in Hualien, if not all of Taiwan. His seafood dimsum soup (wonton soup) is reputed to be the best in the whole archipelago. And it's actually delicious. For those who are allergic to shellfish, the restaurant also serves grilled meats and some vegetarian specialities. A must for any stay in Hualien.
