CHINSHENG ALLEY

Just south of the historic heart of Lukang, Chinsheng Lane, also known as the Nine Detours Lane, was built to deter bandits and September winds from rushing into the city. It is indeed easy to get lost in it. But today, rather than a thug's trap, it is a lively place with many restaurants and street food stalls. Even if most of the old buildings have been razed to make way for concrete blocks, you can still go for a good walk.
