SHUIYUDONG REFINERY

Going down to the sea (from Jinguashi you can reach it on foot for the sporty ones, by taxi for the others), the ruins of an impressive thirteen-storey building give you an idea of the gigantic proportions of mining under the Japanese occupation. This is where metals were processed, refined and separated. Nearby, the Golden Waterfall (黃金瀑布) is a beautiful waterfall with golden reflections due to metal deposits in the river. The sea is right next door.
