Founded in 1957, Far Eastern Air Transport is one of Taiwan's oldest airlines. From Songshan airport, FAT serves the main Taiwanese cities and some international destinations such as Japan, China, Cambodia and Vietnam. Since the 2000s, the company has been experiencing serious financial difficulties. In December 2019, the company nearly declared bankruptcy, before announcing new investments in extremis.
