Clermont Foot gained popularity in the early 2000s with the rise to Ligue 2. In 2019, the club was bought by Ahmet Schaefer, former assistant to former FIFA president Sepp Blatter. The parking lot capacity will increase to 1,700 spaces. This will be only the beginning of a long transformation in three phases, with the objective of reaching a capacity of 30,000 spaces in the long term. Expansion work is scheduled to begin in 2023.

Three-time French second-division champions and two-time runners-up, the senior team Les Servals de Clermont now play in the D3 division. While the head office is located at the Louis-Thévenet gymnasium, training sessions take place at the Cézeaux stadium for the seniors and at the Treimonteix stadium for the juniors and cadets.
