For those who would like to go to Chile, you can go to the small village of Susques to continue to the Jama crossing which marks the border with Chile. There are also direct buses from Jujuy to San Pedro de Atacama if you don't have time... In Susques, you should not miss the oldest church in the region, dating back to 1598, the Nuestra Señora de Belén de Susques church. The village is known to be very old but the Spanish conquistadores did not settle here because of the arid climate. Today the village has a little more than 2,000 inhabitants
