Castle built on a fort, a major monument of Saverne housing the oldest municipal museum in Alsace with three sections

A major monument of the city, the Rohan castle is built on a fort built in the 12th century and extended until the 18th century. The museum, created in 1858, is, after those of Strasbourg and Colmar, the oldest municipal museum in Alsace. It has three sections: the first is devoted to archaeology, the second to art and history, and the third to Louise Weiss, a journalist who dedicated her life to the European idea and to women's rights.
