Situated on the border of the Auvergne and Bourbonnais regions, this feudal castle is perched on a rocky promontory. The 12th century keep is encompassed by the 13th century fortress. In the 16th century, it was the property of Chancellor Michel de L'Hospital and now belongs to the descendants of the Marquis de Torcy and de Rosey. The site of the feudal wars between the English and the French, its defensive architecture is as fascinating as its 18th century interior decorations.
