If there is a temple with visit in Sri Lanka, it is in Kandy.
We went for the tea ceremony in the evening, the crowd was not too heavy therefore we could without waiting too, to attend the opening of the door of the room in which the dent rests. Caution: the dent is not seen! but the 7th receptacle that houses it. That is very symbolic.
In addition to this room (which opens every 20 minutes during 10min), there are other rooms to visit: altars, the library, the showroom tracing the history of the dent…
As for all the temples (same ruins of ancient temples), you must be exposed, covered shoulders and genous.
The place not to be missed in Kandy: we spent in the morning and naps returned there one evening. There are still many Sri Lankan tourists and to attend the ceremonies (3/jour) is the assurance of a high show colours… Not given the tooth or shade! but there are several buildings (including the museums) that are also worth a visit.
Impressionnant
