Created in 2007, Aide et Répit is inspired by methods used in Quebec and Belgium (Baluchon Alzheimer). It supports families with a loved one suffering from Alzheimer's by offering a range of support services. It has set up a training school for multi-skilled carers, bringing together family carers, volunteers and professionals, to provide training in home support. Unique in France, this training program teaches how to care for and support the patient while preserving the energy of the caregiver, so as to maintain the patient's autonomy for as long as possible.
