Travel Guide Achit Nuur

With its 290 km2, Achit Nuur is the largest lake of theaimag, on the road to Olgiy, even if its size has tended to reduce for several years, because of the heat waves that hit the region during the summer. Several rivers feed it and it is also the starting point of several streams. Its 28 km of coastline are covered with hilly steppes. In the northwest and southeast, its banks are however marshy. It is suitable for fishing and camping, for those who have their own means of transportation. As a nature reserve, it is forbidden to build there and only nomadism is tolerated, in order to preserve the local fauna and flora.
