This isolated national park lies on the territories of the Zavkhan and Arkhangai aimags. It covers an area of 5,245 km², where semi-arid steppe meets coniferous forest. Opened in 2000, it is home to a wealth of flora and fauna, the source of the Selenge River and numerous historical and cultural sites. Birdwatchers are particularly fond of the area, as there are plenty of birds to be seen.
