This state hotel is still the most luxurious hotel in Benghazi. As well as the Dawa Islamiya building (on the seafront, housed in the shops and the headquarters of the Islamic Call Center, the Libyan Silguy religious association), Hotel Tibesti is one of the most interesting modern architecture in the city, with its pyramid facade designed to be a green wall. Volumes, decoration, colours, furniture, everything here recalls the aesthetics of the late 1970 s. A little young, but well maintained.

The rooms offer beautiful views of the lake of 23-July or views of the city. Their air conditioning system is no longer a young one. Many services: three restaurants (including a good Italian on the 13 th floor), cafes, shops, spa, indoor swimming pool, ticket distributor, change, travel agency Dar Sahara, airlines. During the month of Ramadan, the café on the roof terrace turns into a nice and lively restaurant preparing delicious grilled grill, and tents are installed. Very pleasant so during this month, but not necessarily the rest of time despite the beautiful sunsets.

The village is about years old and has been renovated. It is one of the largest tourist villages in the country, with everything it needs to live in isolation by the sea: coffee, restaurants, shops, swimming pool, exchange service, internet café, grocery shop, tennis court, a small amusement park for children frequented by families until late in the evening and surrounded by coffee. Some Libyans live even year-round, for example teachers (public service salaries are still capped in Libya), in the eastern part of the village. The air-conditioned rooms in the western part are comfortably furnished, and some have a beautiful sea view. The suites are quite correct.

The café coffee (shisha) on the back of the building is as pleasant as it was frequented (open in summer, 17 h or 18 h at 1 h or 2 in the morning). There is an amazing giant TV screen. The restaurant, also outdoors from the fine days, is simply delicious and its fish dishes have created the reputation (count between 10 DL… and 95 DL for a gargantuan seafood platter). The hotel is situated on the seafront where you can relax. Guests can access the nearby tennis court free of charge.

Next to the Hotel Afriqiya, a recent establishment where an effort was made for the decoration, certainly a little kitsch but welcoming. The suites have a particularly beautiful wooden furniture, and some have a glass window. A restaurant, a café and even a wedding room for weddings. Good value for money.

Choose the rooms with views of the lake of 23-July, whose charm is all urban. There is no question about the comfort of the rooms. The suites are particularly comfortable. This imposing hotel that knows how to maintain its standing offers many services: Restaurant (good buffet), laundry, cyber café, souvenir shop, car rental agency and airline ticket purchases, Bank Bank nearby.

Rather well maintained and ideally situated on the seafront near the Italian lighthouse and the El-Aatik mosque, it is a pleasant hotel which opened in February 2006. The rooms are air-conditioned, satellite TV, shower, mini bar, the phone does not always work. Choose a room with sea view. Three computers with Internet on the ground floor. No restaurant, but sandwiches and hamburgers can be ordered (2 DL). Excellent value for money, very popular tourist groups.

This is certainly one of the best options for small budgets. The lobby with its blue ice and the surprising dining room are worth a look. Rooms of different sizes, quite summary, with TV, air conditioning, telephone, small beds, sometimes a fridge. Balconies with views of the city. The hotel is under renovation: Some rooms are in full work, others are finished (new furniture and floor coverings), and others are still old. Restaurant and café open 24 hours a day, cafeteria on the ground floor.
