The border town of Guajará-Mirim is 333 km south of Porto Velho, on the right bank of the Rio Mamoré. It is a small and quiet town without much interest. If you continue to Bolivia, or if you have to wait for a boat to Costa Marques, it is better to go directly across to the Bolivian side, to Guayaramerín where life is much cheaper, and the atmosphere more interesting.
